Bug List 2A ENT3003

1.     One of my roommates keeps turning the temperature down below 67 degrees when we specifically agreed to keep it at least 70 degrees.
-       This bug might exist because she might like the temperature lower and hasn’t talked to me or the other roommates about agreeing to change it.
2.     When people like to humblebrag or back door brag about things in their life that I don’t care about.
-       They want people to know their accomplishments and to look up to them.
3.     When people walk into an elevator before letting the people in the elevator get out.
-       People are in a rush to get into the elevator or anticipate the door opening.
4.     When people park their cars too close to the lines in a parking spot and I can’t get out of my car.
-       They haven’t had much practice in parking their cars and are too impatient to fix their parking job.
5.     When my roommates leave empty food containers in the pantry or fridge, so it just takes up room.
-       They are too lazy to throw away the empty food container or they forget.
6.     When the toilet paper roll finishes and the last person to use the bathroom doesn’t replace it.
-       This bug may exist for multiple reasons such as: they forget to change it, they are too lazy, or there is no more toilet paper to exchange it.
7.     Sitting in a lecture hall and having the people next to me use both arm rests so I don’t have any.
-       Their arms or tired or they don’t care about the people around them to care if they want to put their arms on the armrest.
8.     Standing in line for something and having the people behind me stand too close.
-       They don’t have a sense for personal space, or they are comfortable standing very close to strangers.
9.     Going into boutiques and having the store employees come and talk to me every 5 seconds.
-       They want to make sales and make sure the customer is satisfied.
10.  The tenants above my apartment consistently banging on the floors and sounding like they are either playing basketball or wrestling.
-       They are having fun and don’t care about the peace of silence of their neighbors.
11.  Having to pay extra money to do assignments when I already pay for the class.
-       Professors want easy access to students work and believe it will help students learn more easily.
12.  People who walk extremely slow on campus when I’m trying to get to class.
-       They may not be in a rush or they just are a slow walker.
13.  When I’m studying in the library and I hear people talking really loud to their friends.
-       They may not know they are talking loudly, or they don’t care about the silence the other students in the library want.
14.  When people leave their shopping carts in parking spaces.
-       They may be too lazy to walk their cart back to the store.
15.  Not tidying up your table when leaving a restaurant.
-       People find this is the job of the busboy, but it is kind to put everything on one plate to make it easier for the workers.
16.  When people wear bangling bracelets in quiet places.
-       They don’t think their loud bangles bother people or care about their style more than the wants of others.
17.  People stopping in the middle of a busy area to have a conversation
-       They get caught up in the moment of seeing someone they know that they forget to move out of the way of the crowded area.
18.  When employers have you submit your resume and then re-enter all the information that’s already on your resume.
-       They may not want to go through your resume and may find it easier to read.
19.  Having a doctor’s appointment at 8am and the doctor not coming into the room until 10am.
-       Doctors have a lot of patients at one time and the office may be backed up.
20.  Stuck in traffic to get off an exit and a car comes flying in through the lane next to me and cuts the line straight to the front.
-       This exists because people are impatient and are in a rush to get to their destination.

Reflection: I did not find coming up with the bugs that difficult because I have a personality where I get annoyed very easily and hold grudges against small things. The part that was a bit more difficult was finding the “why” the bugs exist. It was hard for me to get into the minds of people that do the things that bug me the most.

  1. OH my goodness number 11!!!! It bugs me so much that I'm already paying hundreds of dollars for a class, the book and later to find out I have to drop another hundred or so dollars just to get access to homework. I absolutely HATE it. A lot of students budget and try to make their finances last and when multiple classes start doing that... it drives us all up a wall. Also, number one! Sorry about your roommates! Honestly, communication is key. Set some ground rules but also be willing to compromise. The ultimate goal is not to get one person's way, but to live peacefully together. Great list!
